Research & Presentations
New science on how stimulation waveforms work
Biomimetic Dynamic Priming™
Our work on wavelet-based stimulation waveforms reveals new features such as spatiotemporal recruitment in peripheral nerves and distinct modulation of dendritic terminals in the central nervous system.
It also introduces a new hypothesis for the mechanism of sub-perception spinal cord stimulation: “Beyond Excitation.”
INS 2026
4 posters and 1 oral presentation on wavelet waveforms and sub-perception SCS.
NANS 2026
Podium, poster and on-screen presentations on wavelet-based waveforms.
ECAP, anatomy and the origin of action potentials
Simulating dorsal column and dorsal root fibers on realistic 3D trajectories shows that trajectory sets ECAP amplitude, while root bifurcation sets its shape. It’s worth asking which anatomy produced an ECAP before treating it as a closed-loop biomarker.
Dendritic polarization under field stimulation
In a pyramidal cell model, extracellular field stimulation preferentially polarized the dendritic tree compared with somatic current injection. That suggests dendritic dynamics should be considered when designing BCI stimulation paradigms.
